Verifiable, developer-owned cloud infrastructure
Filecoin Onchain Cloud is an open, verifiable cloud platform that brings programmable storage, verifiable retrieval, and onchain, proof-gated payments to decentralized applications. Its Warm Storage Service keeps data online and provably available. This is a departure from Filecoin's archival origins, with data held in raw, sub-second-retrievable form.
Availability is guaranteed by Proof of Data Possession (PDP), a cryptographic protocol that lets a client or smart contract confirm a provider still holds a dataset, without re-downloading it, by answering a randomized challenge. See the documentation for the full architecture.
