Base is Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2, an optimistic rollup built on the OP Stack that settles to Ethereum L1 for security while batching transactions off-chain for lower fees and higher throughput. Like other OP Stack chains, its peer-to-peer layer runs on libp2p: op-node instances gossip unsafe blocks and attestations across the network until L1 finalization catches up. Check out the Topology and GossipSub sub-pages. They show node counts, client implementations, geographic distribution, and hosting concentration giving a view of how Base actually looks on the wire, beyond the sequencer.
